The solar lanterns, dubbed the SolaMAX, will help encourage fishing on the outer reef.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The SolaMAX lanterns will be mounted on solid structures in the reef and will show a yellow light visible for up to 5NM. The compact lanterns will feature built-in solar panels that charge a sealed lead acid battery via a solar regulator. <\/p>\n<p>All the electronics are tightly contained within a tough UV-resistant polycarbonate enclosure.
