But that leaves open the other possibility.<\/p>\n<p>Aparently, the reason the moon shines at night isn&#8217;t because it&#8217;s plugged into the mains, as some of us were always led to believe but because it reflects the rays of the sun. How it can do that when the sun isn&#8217;t even there, because it&#8217;s night time, is beyond me but that&#8217;s what so-called scientists claim.<\/p>\n<p>Anyrodeup, if that&#8217;s the case, then why don&#8217;t they cover the moon completely with mirrors &#8211; or better still, tin foil? That way it&#8217;ll reflect <i>all<\/i> the sun&#8217;s rays back at Earth and it&#8217;ll never be night time again, saving us all a fortune in electricity, <i>and<\/i> dramatically cutting crime.<\/p>\n<p>So, in the absence of the mighty destructo-oblivion some would prefer for the moon (a project worthy of the Time Lords themselves), should we cover it in mirrors and turn it into the world&#8217;s biggest disco ball?<\/p>\n<p>I vote yes. I can&#8217;t be doing with all these dark mornings. They make it hard for me to get out of bed before noon.
