A previously unreleased duet between the late Michael Jackson and singer Lenny Kravitz made the rounds online Monday. Sony has since removed the single, entitled “Another Day,” from YouTube over copyright infringement claims, but Lenny hit Twitter to explain the history of the track and express his hope that it can be released for fans at some point in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe song was recorded by Michael and myself. I produced it for him,\u201d<\/em> the rocker divulged in a TwitVid Monday. \u201cI wrote the song and I played all the instruments on the track. It was one of the most amazing musical experiences that I\u2019ve ever had.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was done by two people who had respect for each other and who love music. That was it. I\u2019d like to see this thing get straightened out as soon as possible because I\u2019d like for u you, the fans, people who love Michael, to be able to hear the track in its entirety, the way that it was meant to be, the way that Michael and I had intended it to be. That\u2019s all being worked out\u2026 I\u2019ll get back to you as soon as I have my information,”<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

Lenny explained that he had nothing to do with the song being leaked online.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know and have heard, the song, or part of the song leaked, but not by me,\u201d<\/em> Lenny said. \u201cMine has been locked up in a vault since we recorded it. The version that\u2019s out is a minute and 30 seconds, roughly, of the track. [It\u2019s] not mixed, but it is the track. The DJ who\u2019s speaking over the track, I don\u2019t know who that person is. I don\u2019t know how they obtained it\u2026 but that person has nothing to do with the track.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
