AOL\u0092s job site reports the following:<\/p>\n

Nearly one out of two workers in Detroit are unemployed, according to a report by The Detroit News. It\u0092s a figure far higher than the government\u0092s official figure, which is still close to a staggering 30 percent.<\/b><\/p>\n

But the newspaper says that rate doesn\u0092t take everything into account. For every person who is still looking and collecting unemployment, there are scores of others who have had benefits run out, accepted a part-time position, taken early retirement or a job outside of their regular field.<\/p>\n

This is higher than the unemployment during the Great Depression<\/b>. In 1931, the official unemployment rate was 24.9%. It took a world war to bring it down to 4.7%<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The stated plan was that different parts of the world would be assigned different roles of industry and commerce in a unified global system. The continued preeminence of the United States and the relative independence and self-sufficiency of the United States would have to be changed in order to create a new structure, you first have to tear down the old, and American industry was one example of that.<\/p>\n

Each part of the world will have a specialty and thus become inter-dependent, he said. The US will remain a center for agriculture, high tech, communications, and education but heavy industry would be transported out.<\/p>\n
