{"id":142096,"date":"2010-01-05T18:40:59","date_gmt":"2010-01-05T23:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/?p=87546"},"modified":"2010-01-05T18:40:59","modified_gmt":"2010-01-05T23:40:59","slug":"michelle-obama-peta-ad-under-fire-from-white-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/142096","title":{"rendered":"Michelle Obama PETA Ad Under Fire From White House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A PETA anti-fur ad that went up in Metrorail stations around Washington last month has fallen under fire for using the First Lady&#8217;s likeness without permission from The White House.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Michelle-Obama-PETA-Ad-Controversy.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Michelle Obama PETA Ad Controversy\" width=\"450\" height=\"525\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-87547\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-87546\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The animal rights group salutes Carrie Underwood, Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, and Michelle Obama as part of its <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.peta.org\/site\/Advocacy?cmd=display&#038;page=UserAction&#038;id=2637\">&#8220;Make DC Fur-Free&#8221; campaign<\/a>. In the controversial ad, PETA praises the ladies as the <em>&#8220;most stylish and influential women in America,&#8221;<\/em> adding that <em>&#8220;they all refuse to wear real fur. By rejecting fur, these style icons demonstrate to the world that fur is old-fashioned and cruel,&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<p>PETA President Ingrid Newkirk tells <em>The Associated Press<\/em> that her organization has done nothing wrong.
