\"\"<\/a>A recent job posting listed on Logitech’s website indicates a need for a “super-star engineer” to help develop a breakthrough product which combines “an Android UI with web based content and media services”. It is unknown as to what type of product is in development, but the job listing describes the need of a developer with the ability to create “simple and elegant UIs that are the window into a world of web based streaming media”.<\/p>\n

The position is within Logitech’s “Digital Home Group” department, which seems to rule out any interest in a mobile product. Engadget<\/strong><\/a> surmises they may be looking to incorporate Android into its Squeezebox lineup.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Logitech Squeezebox devices already offer apps for Facebook, Flickr, Pandora, Last.fm, and Slacker Radio, most of which are also available in Android form. Building a device which integrates Android’s UI and wealth of applications would be a smart way to stay up to date with applications, without losing focus on the product itself. Although this new product may be intended to be a home entertainment offering, it is indeed possible the application in development could also be accessible by mobile devices, adding one more leg<\/strong><\/a> for Android to stand on as a media powerhouse.<\/p>\n
