The company reports today that it has added 1,700 international booksellers, publishers and libararies to its network \u2013 existing partners included <a href=\"http:\/\/www.borders.com\" title=\"Borders.com\">Borders.com<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\" title=\"BarnesAndNoble.com\">BarnesAndNoble.com<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whsmith.co.uk\" title=\"WHSmith.co.uk\">WHSmith.co.uk<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>But it is unclear whether those numbers actually translate into any kind of financial success. Taking a page from Amazon (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=AMZN\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"AMZN\">NSDQ: AMZN<\/a>), the company declines to reveal any details on subscriber numbers or revenues from either content partners or consumers.\n<\/p>\n<p>OverDrive says its partnerships now bring its total catalog up to 400,000 digital books. New online retailers include Australia&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readwithoutpaper.com\/\" title=\"Read Without Paper\">Read Without Paper<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/livrariacultura.com.br\/\" title=\"Livraria Cultura\">Livraria Cultura<\/a> in Brazil, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.txtr.com\/\" title=\"Txtr\">Txtr<\/a> in Germany, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infibeam.com\/\" title=\"InfiBeam\">InfiBeam<\/a> in Inida, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalbok.no\/\" title=\"Digitalbok\">Digitalbok<\/a> in Norway and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.booksonboard.com\/uk_index.html?ebooks=ebooks\" title=\"Books on Board\">Books on Board<\/a> in the UK. International publishers added to the OverDrive stable include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iminds.com\/\" title=\"iMinds\">iMinds<\/a> in Australia, <a href=\"http:\/\/online.chineseall.com\/\" title=\"ChineseAll\">ChineseAll<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.penguin.ca\/\" title=\"Penguin Canada\">Penguin Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While it won&#8217;t give out numbers for its commercial partners, David Burleigh, the company&#8217;s marketing director, tells me that next week it will release some stats around usage of its library service, which now features a selection of books from 10,000 institutions. OverDrive currently works on Windows-based tablets, Apple (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=AAPL\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"AAPL\">NSDQ: AAPL<\/a>) products, the Sony (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=SNE\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"SNE\">NYSE: SNE<\/a>) Reader, nook and Android devices. Publishers sell ebooks through OverDrive, and the company gets a cut of those sales; it declined to provide details of those revenue-share agreements.
