{"id":144748,"date":"2010-01-06T10:30:29","date_gmt":"2010-01-06T15:30:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/?p=9401"},"modified":"2010-01-06T10:30:29","modified_gmt":"2010-01-06T15:30:29","slug":"national-safety-council-names-exelon-nuclear-as-recipient-of-2010-green-cross-for-safety-medal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/144748","title":{"rendered":"National Safety Council Names Exelon Nuclear as Recipient of 2010 Green Cross for Safety Medal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9463\" title=\"exelon-nuclear\" src=\"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/exelon-nuclear-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/>The National Safety Council announced that Exelon Nuclear will receive its 2010 Green Cross for Safety Medal, NSC&#8217;s annual recognition of an organization that demonstrates a steadfast commitment to improving safety and health in the workplace, its community and through safety leadership demonstrated by all levels of the organization.<\/p>\n<p>Exelon Nuclear, a business unit of Exelon Corporation, operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation and the third largest fleet in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Headquartered in Warrenville, IL, Exelon Nuclear operates 10 stations with 17 reactors and represents an estimated 20 percent of the U.S. nuclear industry&#8217;s power capacity. <span id=\"more-9401\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Over 17 million homes are powered by Exelon Nuclear&#8217;s generating units.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to present Exelon Nuclear with the Green Cross for Safety Medal reflects NSC&#8217;s recognition of the organization&#8217;s strong safety culture which is highly visible in all aspects of Exelon Nuclear&#8217;s work practices.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The National Safety Council is proud to award Exelon Nuclear with the 2010 Green Cross for Safety Medal,&#8221; said Janet Froetscher, NSC president and CEO.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Exelon Nuclear has a very strong reputation in its industry as a safety leader. It is known for protecting its employees and the communities in which it does business. I commend Mr. Pardee, Exelon Nuclear&#8217;s President and Chief Nuclear Officer for making safety a top priority at his organization.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Exelon Nuclear prides itself in operating clean, safe and reliable energy plants.
