Mariah Carey was certainly \u2018high\u2019 on life winning this award! \u201cSorry,\u201d Carey told Precious director Lee Daniels at the award podium, giggling madly. \u201cSometimes I get a little\u2026 you know, difficult.\u201dDirector Lee Daniels escorted the unsteady MC to the stage and watched in awe as she stumbled through her words, giggled with the audience and hinted that she\u2019d too much to drink. Carey hesitated for a few seconds, looked to the ceiling, sighed and said: \u201cPlease forgive me, because I\u2019m a little bit, um \u2026\u201d An audience member finished the sentence for her, to which she replied, \u201cYeah!\u201d with a laugh.Carey was presented with the prize for her role in Precious: Based on the Novel &#8216;Push&#8217; By Sapphire, by the film&#8217;s director, Lee Daniels.<\/p>\n<p>However, when the singer took the stage at the California event she stumbled through her words, giggling with the audience and hinting she had too much to drink.<\/p>\n<p>Carey turned to Daniels with a bizarre beginning to her acceptance speech, saying, &#8220;Oh my goodness! I don&#8217;t think they understand the kitten in cotton thing. No we don&#8217;t. Ok, I love you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pausing to address the crowd, she added, &#8220;I have to say this is &#8211; and please forgive me because I&#8217;m a little bit um&#8230; yeah.
