We were right.<\/p>\n<p>Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/story\/10656904\/1\/exclusive-apples-tablet-has-no-intel-inside.html\">confirmed to TheStreet.com<\/a> this morning that based on his conversations with Apple&#8217;s design manufacturing partners, Intel didn&#8217;t make the cut as a parts supplier for the tablet computer Steve Jobs will almost certainly unwrap at a presentation on January 27th.<\/p>\n<p>TheStreet reporter Scott Moritz wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>There has been speculation that Intel&#8217;s new generation of Atom chips was in the running for the slot, but Apple ultimately chose a processor developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/P.A._Semi\">P A Semi<\/a>, a chip shop Apple <a href=\"http:\/\/digital.venturebeat.com\/2008\/04\/22\/a-quake-in-the-iphone-supply-chain-apple-buys-chip-maker-pa-semi\/\">acquired two years ago<\/a>, according to another analyst familiar with the so-called build plan.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If Apple&#8217;s tablet is the revolutionary device for everyman which it has been portrayed as by industry watchers, if it sells <a href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2009\/12\/31\/could-apple-sell-10-million-tablets-in-a-year\/\">10 million units a year<\/a> as forecast by analysts, then Apple&#8217;s decision cuts Intel out of an important market.
