According to Katy&#8217;s publicist, Brand popped the question in a tent at the foot of a mountain, while the couple was vacationing in India over the holidays.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Katy-Perry-Glamour-Magazine-February-2010-Cover-Photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Katy Perry Glamour Magazine February 2010 Cover Photo\" width=\"443\" height=\"600\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-87706\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In an interview for the mag&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glamour.com\/sex-love-life\/blogs\/smitten\/2010\/01\/its-official-katy-perry-and-ru.html\">February 2010 issue<\/a>, a smitten Katy opened up about the man she met and almost instantly fell in love with at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhen I find a partner who is my teammate,\u201d<\/em> Katy said. <em>\u201cI\u2019m not going to play by any rules, I\u2019m just going to go with my heart. Why wait?
