{"id":147265,"date":"2010-01-06T22:14:12","date_gmt":"2010-01-07T03:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stoth.com\/2010\/01\/06\/firmware-update-will-allow-all-ps3s-to-play-3d-games-and-blu-rays\/"},"modified":"2010-01-06T22:14:12","modified_gmt":"2010-01-07T03:14:12","slug":"firmware-update-will-allow-all-ps3s-to-play-3d-games-and-blu-rays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/147265","title":{"rendered":"Firmware Update Will Allow All PS3s to Play 3D Games and Blu-rays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p><!--Begin feature--><\/p>\n<p><!-- for syndication --><\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stoth.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-o-matic\/cache\/c3ed1_media?id=3780672&amp;type=lg\" alt=\"3D\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the big 3D-hyping portion of their CES press conference, Sony announced that all PlayStation 3s in homes around the world will become fully capable of playing 3D games and Blu-ray movies through a firmware update later this year.<\/p>\n<p>There was no word beyond that on when such a firmware update would be issued, and really, this is about as much information as was provided during the conference as far as videogaming in stereoscopic 3D is concerned (or gaming at all in general &#8212; Kaz Hirai made an appearance earlier in the conference, but only to announce the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.1up.com\/do\/newsStory?cId=3177522\">broadening scope of PSN<\/a> to other Sony devices).<\/p>\n<p>But Sony did have a lot to say on what you&#8217;ll be playing your 3D videogames on, as they revealed their new line of full HD 3D-integrated Bravia televisions for release later this year.
