Jamendo CEO <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/person\/laurent-kratz\">Laurent Kratz<\/a> has confirmed rumors that had <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/mnouz\/status\/7406656503\">made their way<\/a> to Twitter earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>The reason is fairly simple: Jamendo is running out of money after failing to raise a follow-up round of venture capital. The startup was looking to raise 1.5 million euros (roughly $2.15 million) after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2007\/07\/16\/jamendo-gets-cash-for-creative-commons-music\/\">securing<\/a> a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.jamendo.com\/2007\/07\/17\/jamendo-closes-series-a-funding-from-mangrove-capital-partners\/\">&#8217;significant amount&#8217;<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crunchbase.com\/company\/jamendo\">Series A funding<\/a> back in June 2007.
