{"id":150362,"date":"2010-01-07T15:39:33","date_gmt":"2010-01-07T20:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stoth.com\/2010\/01\/07\/ces-taser%e2%80%99s-turn-at-cellphone-safety-voices\/"},"modified":"2010-01-07T15:39:33","modified_gmt":"2010-01-07T20:39:33","slug":"ces-taser%e2%80%99s-turn-at-cellphone-safety-voices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/150362","title":{"rendered":"CES: Taser\u2019s Turn at Cellphone Safety [Voices]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>By Marisa Taylor, Reporter, The Wall Street Journal<\/p>\n<p>For parents who want to keep their kids from sexting \u2014 or just texting at the dinner table \u2014 new cellphone software called Protector keeps them in the loop.<\/p>\n<p>Protector, which debuts Thursday at CES, is made by Taser International, a company that\u2019s best known for its series of electronic stun guns (watch the video below, from CES 2009, to see The Journal\u2019s Andy Jordan test one out for himself).<\/p>\n<p>Protector uses GPS so that a child\u2019s calls, texts, emails and photos are first routed to the parent\u2019s phone, where they can be screened and blocked if desired. It also monitors a child\u2019s location and can even track driving habits, Taser said.
