In an attempt to beef up the performance of its sports cars, Lotus is considering an advanced dual-clutch transmission for future vehicles and is considering the possibility of selling it to other companies.<\/p>\n
According to AutoCar, the automaker <\/span>has submitted a patent application for a lighter, simpler and more compact dual-clutch transmission system.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n As seen from the picture, the gearbox will be an 8-speed unit with seven forward gears and reverse.
