The phones will be under the HTC Smart brand, and will be available this spring across Europe and Asia. The unveiling follows the announcement by AT&amp;T (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=T\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"T\">NYSE: T<\/a>) that it will use Brew for its mid-range devices. HTC Smart will run the company&#8217;s Sense user-interface overlay that is found on Windows Mobile and Android devices today. It will enable personalization and quick access to various social networks as well as texting and email. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthtimes.org\/articles\/show\/htc-smarttm-defines-a-new-category-of-smartphones-for-the-masses,1110739.shtml\" title=\"Release\">Release<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<strong>Thumbplay&#8217;s Music Subscription Service:<\/strong> New York-based Thumbplay launched a private beta of its music-subscription service called Thumbplay Music. The application will be available by invitation-only on some BlackBerry phones, and is available as an Adobe (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=ADBE\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"ADBE\">NSDQ: ADBE<\/a>) Air app on the desktop. The subscription music service provides unlimited, on-demand access to millions of songs from the four major record labels: Universal Music Group, Sony (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=SNE\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"SNE\">NYSE: SNE<\/a>) Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group (<a href=\"http:\/\/finance.paidcontent.org\/paidcontent?Page=QUOTE&#038;Ticker=WMG\" class=\"ticker\" title=\"WMG\">NYSE: WMG<\/a>) and EMI Music. There are also other independent labels. The service is expected to be available more widely in the first quarter of 2010. It includes a free, three-day trial, and then regularly costs $9.99 a month. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prweb.com\/releases\/2010\/01\/prweb3420514.htm\" title=\"Release\">Release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<strong>NuTsie releases iPhone app:<\/strong> Seattle-based nuTsie has released a cloud-based music platform for the iPhone that allows users to stream unlimited music based on the songs already stored on the device. The &#8220;Effin Genius&#8221; application costs $1.99 in the iTunes App Store. It creates playlists using a recommendation engine that searches the music you own. <\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<strong>Boost Mobile expands to CDMA:<\/strong> Boost Mobile, which is Sprint&#8217;s pre-paid mobile division, said it is expanding its popular $50 \u2018Monthly Unlimited\u2019 plan on Jan. 13 to the CDMA network. Previously, Boost operated on Sprint&#8217;s Nextel network. The launch includes three handsets: Kyocera\u2019s Sanyo Mirro SCP3810; Sanyo Incognito SCP6760, and the BlackBerry Curve 8330 (which will cost $60 a month).
