You see the male fly has these spines on its junk and we just don’t know what the hell they are used for. My guess is that they have something to do with maintaining a velcro-like grip on the female during the sexual act, but hey…I’m no expert. You need trained professionals on a mystery of this magnitude. Professionals with a special (and probably very expensive) laser that is so precise, it is capable of cutting off a third of each millimeter-long spine. You can’t just go off making wild assumptions about something this important.<\/p>\n
The result? They have something to do with maintaining a velcro-like grip on the female during the sexual act. Going full Brazilian reduced the chances of mating down to 20%.
