{"id":151728,"date":"2010-01-07T10:42:47","date_gmt":"2010-01-07T15:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mobilecrunch.com\/?p=24734"},"modified":"2010-01-07T10:42:47","modified_gmt":"2010-01-07T15:42:47","slug":"fandango-comes-to-android-babylon-makes-its-way-to-blackberry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/151728","title":{"rendered":"Fandango comes to Android, Babylon makes its way to BlackBerry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mobilecrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/fandago.png\" class=\"shot2\" \/>We&#8217;re rolling two separate announcements into one post, if you don&#8217;t mind. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fandango.com\/\">Fandango<\/a> this morning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/fandango-launches-movie-showtime--ticketing-app-for-the-androidtm-platform-80896242.html\">announced<\/a> the official release of its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fandango.com\/androidapp\">free app<\/a> for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.android.com\/market\/\">Android platform<\/a>, enabling owners of Google&#8217;s Nexus One and <em>other<\/em> devices that run Android to check out movies showtimes and more on the go. The news comes a couple of weeks after the company put out a <a href=\"http:\/\/androidandme.com\/2009\/12\/applications\/fandango-releases-public-beta-of-android-app\/\">beta release<\/a> of the Android app.<\/p>\n<p>Mobile movie fans can use the app to find movies playing nearby by using Android&#8217;s GPS feature and connect straight to Google Maps for driving directions to the theatres, watch trailers, view fan ratings and buy tickets  for more than 16,000 movie screens. Fandango is waiving the service fee for tickets purchased through the app from now until March 7, 2010.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mobilecrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/babylon.png\" class=\"shot2\" \/>Translation and dictionary software maker <a href=\"http:\/\/babylon.com\/\">Babylon<\/a>, on the other hand, has today released its application for BlackBerry.
