14th October 2009 – R\u00f6sler has signed a one-year supply contract with Rio Tinto to deliver Schelkmann Precured Retreaded (SPR) tyres to Rio Tinto’s iron ore mines in Western Australia. There is also potential for R\u00f6sler to supply Rio Tinto’s coal operations in Queensland and New South Wales in the future. <\/p>\n
The contract includes a wide range of OTR sizes with a focus on the supply of Rio Tinto’s most important requirement, 40.00R57. All tyres will be manufactured in R\u00f6sler’s new retreading facility in Perth (formerly owned by Rio Tinto). <\/p>\n
Rio Tinto chose R\u00f6sler as their retreading partner, ahead of other retreading companies tendering for this contract. The decision was made based on the value that the SRP tyres offered and the experience and expertise of R\u00f6sler. <\/p>\n
During the next few months R\u00f6sler will adapt the retreading facility to allow it to produce Schelkmann Precured Retreaded tyres to the same high standards as our facility in Germany. Key personnel from Germany will work in Australia for extended periods to ensure that the quality level R\u00f6sler is already known for is achieved. <\/p>\n
With the opening of the retreading facility in Perth, and the start of a partnership with one of the worlds leading mining organisations, R\u00f6sler has made a significant step into the Australian market.
