outlets are reporting with enthusiasm:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<ul>\n<li>In a column titled \u201cCovered Bonds Set to Roar?\u201d Richard Kemmish of the <i>Wall Street Journal<\/i> wrote (Dec. 8): \u201cIf 2009 was the year of the European corporate bond market, <b>perhaps 2010 will be the year of the European covered bond market<\/b>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<ul>\n<li>A news story from <i>Dow Jones<\/i>\u2019 Mark Brown and Michael Wilson struck a similar note: \u201cThe market for covered bonds \u2026 is <b>off to a roaring start<\/b> in 2010.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<ul>\n<li>Meanwhile, the headline of a <i>Bloomberg<\/i> article by Sonja Cheung and Caroline Hyde trumpeted: \u201c<span class=\"newsstorytitle\"><b>Covered Bond Sales Soar<\/b> to 3-Month High, Lead European Issuance.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><i>Bloomberg<\/i> pegged covered bond sales so far this year [as of January 8] at \u20ac12 billion (more than USD $17 billion) \u2013 about <b>30 times the volume over the same period in 2009<\/b>. <b><i><a
