The Colorado man who admitted orchestrating the Balloon Boy Hoax last fall reported to jail Monday to begin a 90-day jail sentence. Richard Heene drew national attention last October, when his 6-year-old son Falcon was believed to be trapped in a flying saucer-like balloon soaring over the Rockies.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n He pleaded guilty in November to a felony count of attempting to influence a public servant. <\/p>\n Richard turned himself at the Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday morning. Prosecutors said he and his wife, Mayumi Heene, staged their son’s disappearance to generate publicity for themselves because they wanted to star in a television reality show.
