The same investors had participated in <a href=\"http:\/\/deals.venturebeat.com\/2008\/08\/14\/siano-raises-175m-for-mobile-tv-chips\/\">a $17.5 million round<\/a> in August 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The new round brings Siano&#8217;s total fundraising to around $76 million.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-153088\" href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2010\/01\/11\/mobile-tv-chip-maker-siano-raises-24m\/samsung_yp_cm3_portable_cmmb_mobile_tv\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-153088\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stoth.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/wp-o-matic\/cache\/cb08a_Samsung_YP_CM3_Portable_CMMB_Mobile_TV.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung_YP_CM3_Portable_CMMB_Mobile_TV\" width=\"293\" height=\"231\" \/><\/a>Siano chairman Erel Margalit said in a prepared statement that &#8220;Coming out of the global financial crisis around mid 2009, it was clear that the mobile DTV market has shifted gear.&#8221; Demand for mobile TV, he added, has been strong in the emerging <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/BRIC\">BRIC<\/a> market &#8212; Brazil, Russian, India and China.<\/p>\n<p>Siano, founded in 2004, provides TV chips to Samsung (pictured: the Samsung YP-CM3,) Motorola, ZTE, Huawei, Mio, Garmin, and Dell among others. Siano&#8217;s website &#8212; siano-ms.com &#8212; has a gallery of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siano-ms.com\/applications-mobile-TV-devices.html\">Siano-powered gadgets<\/a>.
