{"id":167264,"date":"2010-01-11T16:56:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-11T21:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11976697.post-1752553359173939963"},"modified":"2010-01-11T18:14:51","modified_gmt":"2010-01-11T23:14:51","slug":"mymovies-support-for-sagetv-coming-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/167264","title":{"rendered":"MyMovies Support For SageTV Coming Soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u2019ve ever used Windows MediaCenter, you are likely familiar with MyMovies a popular Movie metadata cataloging and management add-on for MediaCenter.&#160; SageTV has some of these capabilities now with various add-ons, but lacking some key features that MyMovies users have had.&#160; Thanks to third party developer, PluckyHD that\u2019s about to change.&#160; PluckyHD, the developer of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geektonic.com\/2009\/08\/sagemovie-wall-version-4-released.html\" >SageMovieWall<\/a> is developing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mymovies.dk\/\" >MyMovies program<\/a> that works with the MyMovies database and add-ons!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smminfoview\" src=\"http:\/\/static.flickr.com\/4046\/4266566993_6558a4733e.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>What is MyMovies?<\/h4>\n<p>In a nutshell, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mymovies.dk\" >MyMovies<\/a> is a movie collection &amp; cataloging program that enables the user to easily browse and play your movies, browse cast members, play movie trailers and much more all with your remote control.&#160; It brings in the metadata automatically into your HTPC and allows for easy management of that data for your movie collection<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n<p> <em>Read on for more about what MyMovies brings to SageTV &#8211; after the jump:<\/em> <a name='more'><\/a>  <\/p>\n<h4>What Would the New MyMovies Program add to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sagetv.com\" >SageTV<\/a>?<\/h4>\n<p>All of the functionality that MyMovies offers to MediaCenter users would also be available to SageTV users through this port.&#160; That includes the movie \u201cdatabase\u201d management which pulls in the metadata (movie information), photos such as DVD covers, dynamic filtering etc.<\/p>\n<p>Another nice advantage of having MyMovies for SageTV is that it makes it easier for a MediaCenter user or a SageTV user to switch or at least \u201ctest\u201d the other HTPC platform without having to re-do all of your movie metadata.<\/p>\n<p><u>Here\u2019s a quick summary of the things MyMovies would add to SageTV:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Full extender support<\/strong> \u2013 will work on HD100 and HD200 extenders! <\/li>\n<li><strong>Improved movie collection management<\/strong> with a much more mature product (around over 4 years and built by media center community) <\/li>\n<li><strong>Multi-disc\/series box set support<\/strong> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost is Free<\/strong> &#8211; The core product support of mymovies is free to the user. Additional features may require some donations or contributions to the community. <\/li>\n<li><strong>SageTV MyMovies Add-on will be Free<\/strong> \u2013 PluckyHD wants to make it clear that he is making no money and not accepting donations from porting this to SageTV. <\/li>\n<li><strong>High res covers and backdrops <\/strong>by user selection. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Choose different versions of a movie on-the-fly <\/strong>(ie collectors\/unrated etc etc) <\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamic Filtering and Custom Categories for movies<\/strong> <\/li>\n<li>Movie Trailer Support <\/li>\n<li><strong>Supports Local Trailer Playback &amp; Custom Intros<\/strong> before the movies starts. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Parental Control\/Lockout features!<\/strong> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Full Support for existing &amp; future MyMovies Customizations<\/strong> \u2013 see a little about those customizations <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mymovies.dk\/how-to\/user-customization.aspx\" >here<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Another nice feature for SageTV users is that you\u2019re able to keep all metadata named and stored in the same fashion as you do with SageTV using BMI (a SageTV-centric metadata add-on).<\/p>\n<h4>When Will It Be Ready?<\/h4>\n<p>The developer is working diligently on this port of MyMovies to SageTV now.&#160; It isn\u2019t ready quite yet and there isn\u2019t an exact ETA although there has been talk of a possible beta in the coming month or two.&#160; Feel free to comment to this post if you\u2019re interested in this add-on \u2013 <em>he needs the extra encouragement as this is a very time-intensive project.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Screenshots Anyone?<\/h4>\n<p>I\u2019m dropping in a few screenshots.&#160;
