Unveiled here in Detroit today, the XTS has yet to be confirmed for production. All GM is saying for now are things like these:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The XTS Platinum concept is the next expression of Cadillac\u2019s Art and Science execution philosophy, reflecting our drive to deliver the latest innovations in the most artful manner,\u201d &#8211; Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager.<\/p>\n<p>But then we heard Ed Welburn, GM&#8217;s design chief, talking to some other GM employee after CEO Ed Whitacre checked out the car for himself. &#8220;Looks like he likes it &#8211; let&#8217;s just hope the public likes it now.&#8221; With that in mind, the XTS is destined for production and should replace the Cadillac DTS and STS very soon.<\/p>\n<p>Can we expect a XTS-V to go head-to-head with the Mercedes-Benz S63 (or S65) AMG?
