A day like today makes that clear.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier it was reported that the government there had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/china-freaks-out-over-lending-tells-banks-to-ramp-up-deposits-2010-1\">increased reserve requirements<\/a> for banks, and just like that the entire China-dependent world from Australia to Brazil to, well, the US, is pointing down.<\/p>\n<p>The S&amp;P is down less than 1% pre-market, in part due to China, but also due to Alcoa&#8217;s after-hours miss (more bad news for commodities).
