{"id":171110,"date":"2010-01-12T16:44:18","date_gmt":"2010-01-12T21:44:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/?p=88468"},"modified":"2010-01-12T16:44:18","modified_gmt":"2010-01-12T21:44:18","slug":"michelle-obama-peta-ad-pulled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/171110","title":{"rendered":"Michelle Obama PETA Ad Pulled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals is pulling an ad campaign that caught the attention of The White House for its illegal use of First Lady Michelle Obama&#8217;s likeness. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.popcrunch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Michelle-Obama-PETA-Ad-Controversy.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Michelle Obama PETA Ad Controversy\" width=\"450\" height=\"525\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-87547\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The ad &#8212; which also featured snapshots of Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, and Carrie Underwood &#8212; was plastered in metro stations all over Washington, DC as part of the animal rights group&#8217;s Make DC Fur campaign.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-88468\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last week PETA defended campaign, saying it used photos of Mrs. Obama because the First Lady does not wear fur. <em>&#8220;We haven&#8217;t asked the White House to fund or promote the campaign, as they can&#8217;t do such things, but the fact is that Michelle Obama has issued a statement indicating that she doesn&#8217;t wear fur, and the world should know that in PETA&#8217;s eyes, that makes her pretty fabulous.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>However, on Tuesday, the group confirmed that it is pulling plug on the Fur-Free DC ad.
