Areddy, Reporters, The Wall Street Journal<\/p>\n<p>The news that <a href=\"http:\/\/digitaldaily.allthingsd.com\/20100112\/google-threatens-to-leave-china\/\">Google might pull out of China<\/a> has quickly become the hottest topic among China\u2019s millions of Web users, prompting expressions of shock and disappointment \u2014 as well as flower offerings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard people talking about Google\u2019s leaving a couple of days ago, but I was still was completely stunned by the news when I arrived at the office this morning.\u201d wrote Twitter user Fenng. \u201cTen years online has turned me from an optimist into a pessimist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some Web users are showing their support for the company on Twitter, which, though blocked in China, can be accessed by tech-savvy netizens, where they began organizing to take real-world action. At Google offices in China, pictured below, fans of the company gathered, some bearing flowers and messages wishing Google well. The so-called \u201cflower campaign\u201d gave rise to several slogans, such as \u201cFarewell for Reunion\u201d and \u201cGoogleBye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Beijing, supporters gathered early to offer flower bouquets in front of Google\u2019s office in the Tsinghua Science Park.
