According to <em>Autocar<\/em>, Marchionne says that Fiat has to show it can sell enough cars in America to make the enterprise worthwhile on its own, which we take to mean he&#8217;s not content with Alfa being a critically loved but money-losing division of a profitable conglomerate. If Alfa can&#8217;t prove the worth of flying to America, then it will stay grounded in Europe.
