I know I’ve been away for a spell, but (for those who care ;)) work and life have kept me quite busy.<\/p>\n

I recently urged (ok, nagged) yet another friend to go to the doctor. He had been complaining of chest pains, lower calf pains, etc. He claims he was having a rough time at home with his wife (not sure if that is true or not, but I try to believe the best in people). We’ve offered ears, hearts, time and shoulders to support him in all of this…<\/p>\n

Well, after "prodding" him to go and get checked, he finally went. And wound up in the hospital for overnight observation! The doctor’s office believes he had a mild heart attack yesterday, and wanted to ensure that he was going to be ok. <\/p>\n

Here’s the part that sucks: Our family has been helping him and his family over the course of the last two years…everything from giving them money when they needed it (and Never getting paid back) to trading our car that worked fine for theirs that needed over $2500 of work – simply so they’d have a reliable vehicle that worked for them and their young son. <\/p>\n

We’ve never asked for ANYTHING in return, other than a little time (friendship), dignity and respect. Well, even though we were the first ones urging him to go to the doctor, we were the LAST to find out he was headed to the hospital!!! He simply texted instead of calling for a ride, etc. He stated that his wife took him there. What hurts is that he didn’t even have the decency to call or let us know the plan of action, and left us ALL very worried about him. In light of the lack of respect we’ve received from both him and his family, I’m seriously considering dropping them all as friends. Sometimes, it hurts TOO MUCH to care about people. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n

Sorry if I sound like I’m whining, but we’ve given up A LOT to help these folks: Time, energy and much more. And he can’t even care enough to keep his supposedly "closest" friends in the loop. I’m hurt. Am I overreacting, or should I call this friendship done? By the way, this isn’t the first time he’s pulled something like this on us (leaving us worried about him and his family)!<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
