{"id":181683,"date":"2010-01-14T21:21:08","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T02:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/momcooks.net\/?p=1408"},"modified":"2010-01-14T21:21:08","modified_gmt":"2010-01-15T02:21:08","slug":"recipe-for-%e2%80%9csunday-sauce%e2%80%9d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/181683","title":{"rendered":"Recipe for \u201cSunday Sauce\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/GMA\/recipe?id=7344257<\/p>\n<p>George Stephanopoulos&#8217; Sunday Sauce with a Greek twist:<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<br \/>\n# 3 medium sweet onions<br \/>\n# 3 carrots<br \/>\n# 3 celery stalks<br \/>\n# 1 tablespoon garlic (chopped)<br \/>\n# 4 strips thick bacon<br \/>\n# 1 1\/2 pounds ground chuck<br \/>\n# 1\/2 pound ground pork<br \/>\n# 1\/2 pound ground veal<br \/>\n# 1 large can plum tomatoes<br \/>\n# 1 cinnamon stick<br \/>\n# 3 ounces milk<br \/>\n# 3 tablespoons olive oil<br \/>\n# Salt and pepper<br \/>\n#<br \/>\nCooking Directions<\/p>\n<p>Chop vegetables and bacon.<\/p>\n<p>Brown bacon until crisp. Add oil and brown garlic. Then add onions. Saute slowly over medium heat (10-15 minutes). Add carrots and celery. Saute another 5-10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Brown meat in separate pan, seasoned with salt and pepper. Then fold into vegetables for another 5-10 minutes. Crush tomatoes by hand over meat and vegetables. When whole mixture is bubbling add milk and cinammon stick.<\/p>\n<p>Stir, cover, reduce heat to simmer and cook for an additional 1-3 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Serve with any kind of pasta.
