{"id":183878,"date":"2010-01-15T11:27:11","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T16:27:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/?p=5591"},"modified":"2010-01-15T11:27:11","modified_gmt":"2010-01-15T16:27:11","slug":"tva-signs-contract-with-iberdrola-for-300-mw-of-wind-power","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/183878","title":{"rendered":"TVA Signs Contract With Iberdrola for 300 MW of Wind Power"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.greenenergyreporter.com\/wp-content\/themes\/v1\/img\/cat\/wind.png\" width=\"8\" height=\"8\" alt=\"\" title=\"Wind\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Iberdrola Renewables, the U.S. subsidiary of the renewable energy unit of the Spanish power company, has inked a power purchase agreement with the\u00a0Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) for 300 megawatts\u00a0of wind-generated\u00a0power.<span id=\"more-5591\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>TVA will purchase the wind energy from<a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthtimes.org\/articles\/show\/iberdrola-renewables-signs-its-largest,1120639.shtml\" > Iberdrola&#8217;s Cayuga Ridge South Wind Power Project<\/a>, which is under construction near the villages of Odell and Emington, Il., south of Chicago. The Cayuga Ridge South wind farm is expected to go live later this year.<\/p>\n<p>TVA plans to add 2,000 megawatts of renewable energy to its generation portfolio.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/2009\/10\/stimulus-money-at-work-tva-signs-contract-for-450-mw-of-wind-power\/\" >Last fall<\/a> the government-owned power agency signed two PPAs for 450 megawatts of wind power to be generated by two farms developed by CPV Renewable Energy Company and Chicago-based Invenergy.<\/p>\n<p>Iberdrola Renewables has a portfolio of nearly 3,500 MW of wind power currently in operation across the U.S. with additional projects in construction.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/GreenEnergyReporter\/~4\/vOsONWnXR_E\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iberdrola Renewables, the U.S. subsidiary of the renewable energy unit of the Spanish power company, has inked a power purchase agreement with the\u00a0Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) for 300 megawatts\u00a0of wind-generated\u00a0power.
