{"id":184163,"date":"2010-01-15T13:20:51","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T18:20:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/childrenshospitalblog.org\/?p=4307"},"modified":"2010-01-15T13:20:51","modified_gmt":"2010-01-15T18:20:51","slug":"children%e2%80%99s-disaster-response-team-still-en-route-to-haiti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/184163","title":{"rendered":"Children\u2019s disaster response team still en-route to Haiti"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4313\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" style=\"width: 300px\">\n\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4313\" title=\"haitisurvivors\" src=\"http:\/\/childrenshospitalblog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/haitisurvivors-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Damon Winter\/The New York Times\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Damon Winter\/The New York Times<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As a sign of how devastated Haiti is after the earthquake, the team of Children&#8217;s Hospital Boston employees, including Shannon Manzi, Emergency Department pharmacist, <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outbound\/article\/www.childrenshospital.org');\" href=\"http:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/cfapps\/research\/data_admin\/Site291\/mainpageS291P0.html\">David Mooney, MD, MPH,<\/a> director of Trauma Program and <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outbound\/article\/www.childrenshospital.org');\" href=\"http:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/cfapps\/research\/data_admin\/Site203\/mainpageS203P0.html\">Gary Fleisher, MD<\/a>, Children\u2019s pediatrician-in-chief is still attempting to land with their supplies in Haiti; they left the United States more than 24 hours ago.<\/p>\n<p>Their plane flew all the way to the airport in <a title=\"Port-au-Prince\" onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outbound\/article\/en.wikipedia.org');\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Port-au-Prince\">Port-au-Prince<\/a>, the capital of <a title=\"Haiti\" onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outbound\/article\/en.wikipedia.org');\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Haiti\">Haiti<\/a>, only to be turned away last night as there were no lights or traffic control to guide the aircraft safely.
