Simon Glik, a lawyer, was walking down Tremont Street
\nin Boston when he saw three police officers struggling to extract a
\nplastic bag from a teenager\u2019s mouth. Thinking their force seemed
\nexcessive for a drug arrest, Glik pulled out his cellphone and began
\nrecording.<\/p>\n

Within minutes, Glik said, he was in handcuffs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the officers asked me whether my phone had audio
\nrecording capabilities,\u2019\u2019 Glik, 33, said recently of the
\nincident, which took place in October 2007. Glik acknowledged that it
\ndid, and then, he said, \u201cmy phone was seized, and I was
\narrested.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The charge? Illegal electronic surveillance.<\/p>\n
