James Cameron\u2019s completely immersive spectacle
\n\u201cAvatar\u201d may have been a little too real for some fans who
\nsay they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing
\nthe film because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world
\nPandora.<\/p>\n

On the fan forum site \u201cAvatar Forums,\u201d a topic thread
\nentitled \u201cWays to cope with the depression of the dream of
\nPandora being intangible,\u201d has received more than 1,000 posts
\nfrom people experiencing depression and fans trying to help them cope.
\nThe topic became so popular last month that forum administrator
\nPhilippe Baghdassarian had to create a second thread so people could
\ncontinue to post their confused feelings about the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t depressed myself. In fact the movie made me
\nhappy ,\u201d Baghdassarian said. \u201cBut I can understand why it
\nmade people depressed. The movie was so beautiful and it showed
\nsomething we don\u2019t have here on Earth. I think people saw we
\ncould be living in a completely different world and that caused them to
\nbe depressed.\u201d<\/p>\n

A post by a user called Elequin expresses an almost obsessive relationship with the film.<\/p>\n
