Russia\u2019s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has urged
\npower engineering specialists to fix energy failures without delays,
\nItar-Tass quotes him saying during a meeting with the regional
\ndevelopment minister, Viktor Basargin, on Monday.<\/p>\n

Putin said the country had entered the heating season on time, and
\n\u201cthe national energy suppliers have been working practically
\nwithout failures.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, he said, there are certain problems, and they need to be
\nsolved without any delay. Those affected do not care about statistics,
\nhe remarked.<\/p>\n

The country, said Putin, had entered the season in a tougher environment than it was expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to the global warming challenges, we need to
\naddress \u2018global cooling\u2019 effects and to do so
\npromptly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In his opinion Russia has proved prepared for the cold weather better than many Western European countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cYet, our own problems are many, too. Many are due to the
\nbreakdowns of thermal power trunk pipelines. We need to oversee the
\nprocess, to promptly react in case of any failure and provide support
\nfor municipalities and regions,\u201d Putin said.<\/p>\n
