I see by the snailpapers that Thomas Friedman, visiting Taiwan this
\nweek, told his audience in Taipei: \u201d I\u2019m gonna tell you a
\nsecret. Don\u2019t let anybody else know,\u201d he said. \u201cThere
\nare too many Americans in the world today.\u201dIt is a blessing that
\nso many people in the world can live like Americans, Friedman said, but
\n\u201cthe good Lord did not design our planet for this many
\nAmericans.\u201d<\/p>\n

CLIMADIPLOMACY: Visiting American writer Thomas L. Friedman of the
\nNew York Times said \u201cThere are too many Americans in the world

Citing his book Hot, Flat and Crowded, Mr Friedman said the average
\nglobal temperature had risen by almost 2\u00baC since the Industrial
\nRevolution.<\/p>\n

Flat is Friedman\u2019s metaphor for a world in which more and more
\npeople can live a middle-class American lifestyle, have their jobs and
\ndrive their cars.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna tell you a secret. Don\u2019t let anybody
\nelse know,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are too many Americans in the
\nworld today.\u201dIt is a blessing that so many people in the world
\ncan live like Americans, Friedman said, but \u201cthe good Lord did
