U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue warned the U.S. faces
\na double-dip recession because of the taxes and regulations under
\nconsideration by the Democratic Congress and President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongress, the administration and states must recognize that
\nour weak economy simply could not sustain all the new taxes,
\nregulations and mandates now under consideration. It\u2019s a
\nsure-fire recipe for a double-dip recession, or worse,\u201d Donohue
\nsaid in a speech providing the Chamber\u2019s outlook for 2010.<\/p>\n

Donohue said the lawmakers should not let former President George W.
\nBush\u2019s tax cuts expire at the end of year and lambasted
\nDemocratic efforts on healthcare and financial regulatory reform as
\nwell as climate change.<\/p>\n

If the tax cuts are allowed to expire, \u201cwe will likely end up
\nwith even bigger deficits and greater economic misery,\u201d Donohue
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
