‘In a unanimous ruling, the European
\nCourt of Human Rights condemns Britain’s anti-terrorism legislation
\narguing that it disrespects the private life of an individual. <\/font>All
\nthe seven judges censuring the UK legislation said that police
\nsearches, without reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing, breach the
\ncomplainants’ right to their private life under Article 8 of the
\nEuropean Convention on Human Rights, its statement said on Tuesday. <\/font><\/p>\n

That the police are empowered to search
\nthe person’s clothing and personal belongings, and having personal
\ninformation exposed to public view, amounts to a clear interference and
\ncould also cause “humiliation and embarrassment” to the individual,
\nnoted the statement.’<\/font><\/p>\n
