Harper students can find a way to become more involved by attending the Club Expo<\/b> from noon until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27<\/b> in the Student Center Lounge, Building A, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.<\/p>\n
Representatives from more than 30 clubs, such as Astronomy<\/b>, Environmental<\/b>, Dance Team<\/b>, Latinos Unidos<\/b>, Literature and Creative Writing<\/b>, and Math<\/b>, will be available to answer questions. One new club, the Veterans Club<\/b> for military veterans will be looking for new members at the Club Expo<\/b>. <\/p>\n
Bobby Summers<\/b>, assistant professor, Political Science, is recruiting members for the Harper Veterans Club<\/b>. “The club is a forum for Harper vets to have a voice and to share experiences that are unique to the men and women who have served their country,” says Summers<\/b>, who is also a military veteran. <\/p>\n
The number of Illinois veterans going to Harper has increased over 22% from fall 2009 to fall 2009 due to the Post-9\/11 Veteran’s Educational Assistance Act of 2008, according to Thomas Warfield<\/b>, financial aid assistant, Veteran’s Services, Office of Student Financial Assistance. <\/p>\n
