The CDE gave me some pamphlets for some of the more popular ones, and told me that when I visit in three months that I should have decided which one I want to she can give me a &quot;dummy&quot; one as a trial to see if I like it. The three that she gave me for options were the Animas Ping, a Minimed with CGM, and the Omnipod.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my thoughts:<\/p>\n<p>Animas Ping-<\/p>\n<p>Pros:<br \/>\nNice color screen<br \/>\nSupported by One Touch<br \/>\nBuilt in Calorie King selections<\/p>\n<p>Cons:<br \/>\n&quot;Average&quot; pump, nothing really special about it<\/p>\n<p>\nMinimed with CGM-<\/p>\n<p>Pros:<br \/>\nCGM is really cool and would be especially useful because being a student I am not always able to test.<\/p>\n<p>Cons:<br \/>\nLots of wiring\/cords\/devices<\/p>\n<p>Omnipod-<\/p>\n<p>Pros:<br \/>\nWireless would be really handy considering my active lifestyle and it&#8217;s very inconspicuous (keep on during shower, don&#8217;t have to adjust sleep positions, no tangles etc)<br \/>\nBuilt in remote\/meter<\/p>\n<p>Cons:<br \/>\nCan&#8217;t get supplies from pharmacy<br \/>\nI imagine it&#8217;s a bit more expensive<br \/>\nLikely more prone to problems\/breakdowns<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t had a chance to contact the insurance company for pricing and if I would even be approved for one.<\/p>\n<p>Right now I think the Omnipod would be best because it&#8217;s cordless, but the CGM is hard to turn down&#8230; any thoughts?
