Companies would also have to provide expectations of earthquake activity and submit to outside review of the process.<\/p>\n<p>Geothermal energy has come under <a href=\"http:\/\/greenenergyreporter.com\/2010\/01\/december-top-ten-players-in-green-energy-nos-6-10\/\">increased scrutiny<\/a> as regulators and the public worry about the risks associated with drilling into the earth\u2019s core.<\/p>\n<p>Geothermal companies seek to drill holes deep into the earth to access hot bedrocks, then pump water into the holes to create steam, which drives turbine to create electricity.
