{"id":198289,"date":"2010-01-19T09:59:18","date_gmt":"2010-01-19T14:59:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagopressrelease.com\/?p=11160"},"modified":"2010-01-19T09:59:18","modified_gmt":"2010-01-19T14:59:18","slug":"kankakee-teachers-on-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mereja.media\/index\/198289","title":{"rendered":"Kankakee teachers on strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All Kankakeee District 111\u00a0schools\u00a0are closed today because of a teachers&#8217; strike, according to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.k111.k12.il.us\/\" >district&#8217;s Web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The union and district failed to reach an agreement to avoid a strike late last week, and on Monday the district canceled classes for today in anticipation of the walkout.<\/p>\n<p>About 5,800 students at 12 schools which include classes from kindergarten through 12th grade, will be affected until the two sides come to an agreement. <span id=\"more-11160\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A 14th and so far last negotiating session was held Friday.
