One of the biggest problems with wind power is the issue of reliability, Green Inc. reports<\/a>. Wind turbines cannot be counted on to provide energy when it’s needed.<\/p>\n

A new study<\/a> suggests that the answer is building more turbines and connecting them to a strong power gird.<\/p>\n

Because there is always wind somewhere, more strategically positioned turbines would cause the minimum amount of available energy to rise. This, according to the report, could provide between 20 and 30 percent of the energy on the Eastern Connection (the grid that runs from New Orleans to Halifax).<\/p>\n

It would require funding<\/a>, of course, and a “new way of planning for transmission lines.”<\/p>\n
