Good thing too, because Valentine&#8217;s Day is the last day you&#8217;d want to give your sweetheart flowers that stand for distrust (Lavender) or friendship (pink rose) if you&#8217;re looking for something more than friendship. I worked for a wholesale nursery but we didn&#8217;t carry Carnations so I didn&#8217;t see them sell and I personally don&#8217;t really like them much, so I&#8217;m surprised to find out they&#8217;re so popular. Maybe because they&#8217;re long lasting, but man, in my opinion there are so many better looking flowers.<\/li>\n<li>When to order flowers &#8211; typically most flower shops say they can deliver up until Valentine&#8217;s Day even if you order at the last minute. But keep in mind, last minute flower shopping will cost you. Plus if you&#8217;re picky and want a special arrangement you really need to order before all the shops run out. At the wholesale flower shop I worked for you do not know how busy Valentine&#8217;s Day was. We&#8217;d get orders super early (months) and still we&#8217;d run out which means the shops we supplied to would run out as well &#8211; growers who supply to shops can only grow so fast. Basically the sooner you order the better for delivery. If you&#8217;re ordering and picking up from a shop, order early and pick up in the morning. Most flower shops get their flowers in early in the morning and\/or make arrangements the evening before hand or early in the morning.
