But there&#8217;s no truth to those rumors, say city officials. <em>Jersey Shore&#8217;s<\/em> so-called stereotypical portrayal of Italian-Americans led to a advertiser boycott and criticism from politicians and public interest groups &#8212; now Sea Isle City mayor Leonard C. Desiderio has become the latest public figure distancing himself from the program.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-89735\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;To date, there has been no contact made to City officials regarding this possibility,&#8221;<\/em> the release states. <em>&#8220;We have not been contacted about the show &#8216;Jersey Shore&#8217; filming in Sea Isle. This is an unsubstantiated rumor and in fact, we understand the show is returning to Seaside Heights for the next season.
