The winger was awarded his second career penalty shot during the Blackhawks’ 3-1 victory over the Flames on Thursday night at the Pengrowth Saddledome. <\/span><\/p>\n While on a first-period rush toward the Calgary goal, Kane was hooked by defenseman Mark Giordano and was given the opportunity to take on Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff one-on-one.<\/p>\n The veteran\u00a0netminder stoned Kane’s forehand attempt\u00a0and the game remained scoreless.<\/p>\n Kane exacted a bit of revenge when he scored a power-play goal midway through the second, his team-leading 21st tally of the season.<\/p>\n Photo:<\/strong> Patrick Kane is 0-for-2 on penalty-shot attempts with the Blackhawks. (Elsa\/AP)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n “I saw (Kiprusoff) poke check and I thought I’d just try to get a quick shot off,” Kane said of the penalty-shot attempt.<\/p>\n “I probably should have tried to deke him and maybe go five-hole hole or try and deke real quick and try to go upstairs.<\/p>\n It’s one of those feelings when you get a penalty shot you want to take advantage of those.
