U.S. Airways’ famous flight 1549 Airbus A320 is being auctioned off in “as is” condition, TimesOnline reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n The plane that Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger successfully ditched into the Hudson River last year, saving all 155 passengers and crew on board, will most likely be sold for scrap metal.<\/p>\n Chartis Aerospace Insurance Services, a subsidiary of insurance giant AIG, is running the auction<\/a>.<\/p>\n The aircraft’s engines, which would be a source of valuable metal and spare parts, are not included.<\/p>\n Bids are being accepted through March 27.
