The following green-collar job information resources should help.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-821\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Recovery Act Information Center<\/strong><br \/>\n First is our own<a href=\"http:\/\/apolloalliance.org\/feature-articles\/recovery-act-information-center-what-you-need-to-know\/\"> Recovery Act Information Center<\/a>, which provides up to date information on how and where federal investments in clean energy and green-collar job training from the $787 billion stimulus bill is and will be spent. The important section for job seekers is<em> Federal Guidance and Implementation Resources<\/em>, which provides a state-by-state breakdown of clean energy investment. Other features in that section provide guidance on how cities are using Recovery Act dollars for clean energy programs and projects. Much of the Recovery Act spending will be decided by and funded through state and municipal governments. The jobs developed with Recovery Act clean energy investments are and will generally be associated with existing state and local clean energy programs, and with contractors and private companies executing the energy efficiency upgrades, transit modernization, fix-it-first road and bridge construction, and the jobs to support these and other activities. You should also note that local one-stop career centers also are a good resource for find jobs generated by the Recovery Act.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Green Jobs Boards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A host of online job board resources are available for green-collar job seekers. They include the<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greencollarblog.org\/\">Green-Collar Blog<\/a><\/strong>, which hosts a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greencollarblog.org\/green-job-boards.html\">jobs board <\/a>with a strong list of online sites to locate and apply for jobs. Other green-collar job seeking resources include<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainablebusiness.com\/jobs\/\">Green Dream Jobs<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenbiz.com\/jobs\/\">GreenBiz.com<\/a>,<\/strong><strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecojobs.com\/index.php\">EcoJobs<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.environmentalcareer.com\/\">EnvironmentalCareer.com.,<\/a><\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sustainlane.com\/green-jobs\">Sustain Lane&#8217;s Green-Collar Jobs Board<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renewableenergyjobs.com\/\">Renewable Energy Jobs<\/a>. The solar energy industry association <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jobtarget.com\/home\/index.cfm?site_id=4204\">has a jobs board<\/a>. Take a look at our own <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/apolloalliance.org\/about\/apollo-jobs\/\">Apollo Alliance jobs page<\/a><\/strong> for opportunities, and the jobs pages of other non-profits, community groups, businesses, and government organizations working in the clean energy space.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Volunteer Service<br \/>\n <\/strong>Opportunities are available to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalservice.gov\"> volunteer for a clean energy program<\/a> or project through Americorps, Senior Corps, the Clean Energy Service Corps or other such program<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Online Clean Energy Information<\/strong><br \/>\n There are dozens and dozens of online sites that cover the clean energy business and industrial sector from every conceivable perspective. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenerdesign.com\/\">Greener Design<\/a>, for instance, offers news on businesses incorporating clean energy and efficiency to create sustainable products and practices and is one of the truly useful such sites. The American Wind Energy Association site is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awea.org\">here<\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.incr.com\/Page.aspx?pid=198\">Investor Network on Climate Risk<\/a>, a project of CERES, is here. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceres.org\/Page.aspx?pid=962\">Businesses for Innovative Climate and Energy Policy<\/a>, another CERES project, has good stuff.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.energy.iowa.gov\/\"> The Iowa Energy Office site<\/a> is a good example of how states are promoting clean energy investment, a valuable way to understand where job development will occur. So is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/dleg\">Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth<\/a>.\u00a0 The Environmental Defense Fund <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edf.org\/page.cfm?tagID=40388\" >maps green companies<\/a> across the country.<br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/www.environmentalcareer.com\/\" ><span class=\"yshortcuts\" style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;\"><br \/>\n <\/span><\/a><span class=\"yshortcuts\" style=\"background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial;\"><strong>Green-Collar Job Research and Reports<\/strong><br \/>\n The Apollo Alliance defines a green-collar job as <\/span>a well-paid, career-track job that contributes directly to preserving or enhancing environmental quality.
