The strange spectacle of a Massachusetts congressional candidate trying to grab onto Scott Brown’s coattails is over: Bill Hudak, who got in hot water for signs and remarks about President Obama’s citizenship, has retracted his claim of an “endorsement” from Brown. From his press release:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cOur campaign misinterpreted his verbal agreement of support from Senator-elect Brown as an approval to proceed with the endorsement announcement.\u00a0 And, we did not follow proper procedure for getting the press release approved by the Senator-elect\u2019s team,\u201d said Hudak.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look forward to taking Scott up on his pledge to help me, but will let him dictate when that support should be communicated,\u201d continued Hudak.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is most distressing is the extent to which left-wing bloggers continue to use smear tactics, including trying to portray me as a \u2018birther\u2019 and falsely denigrate and accuse Senator-elect Brown of being of that belief\u201d, Hudak said.\u00a0 \u201cLet me make clear that while I don\u2019t agree with everything he does, President Obama is our President and I believe he was born in the United States, and accusations that he was not are unsupported nonsense and non-issues to the business of our country,\u201d Hudak remarked.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
