On January 15, a school nurse in Wellesley accidentally gave several staff members insulin shots instead of the H1N1 vaccine they were expecting. While some of the staffers were made temporarily hypoglycemic, which can lead to anything from a mild case of the shakes to serious brain fade (when your mind suddenly goes blank), no one was seriously injured.<\/p>\n<p>That doesn\u0092t lessen the seriousness of the error, however. Many medical practitioners have commented on the fact that flu vaccines are typically administered in pre-filled syringes or vials while insulin is drawn from a vial before being administered.
